Some 4,500 people turned out for the ninth edition of the Wiggle Dragon Ride last Sunday (June 10).
The event offered three routes, with the longest Gran Fondi and medium Medio Fondo offering more climbing than in previous years.
Former Team GB track sprinter, Matt Crampton, flagged the riders under way at Margham Park.
Ride direcetor, Lou Lusardi, said more than 250 riders had raised funds for the Prostate Cancer Charity and thanked them for their efforts.
Event organisers, Human Race, who staged the Dragon Ride, the only event on the UK calendar to gain UCI Golden Bike Status, will hold the Etape Cymru on Sunday September 9.
The closed road sportive will take riders on a 92-mile route starting at Bangor-on-Dee racecourse, near Wrexham, and through the villages of the of the Clwydian and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, including Llangollen, Carrog, and Minera.
Climbs include the hills of the Clwydian range, including Panorama and The Shelf. Views from the exposed climb of the World’s End are described by the event’s organisers as “fantastic”.
The event is sponsored by Wattbike, a static training aid that measures heart rate, cadence, and power output, and offers pedal technique analysis.
Entry to the Etape Cymru is still open and costs £55.
