Team Raleigh strengthen for 2013

Team Raleigh have announced more of their rider line up for 2013.

Frenchman, Alexandre Blain, will join Team Raleigh in 2013

The Nottingham-based outfit are seeking to strengthen their squad by retaining key riders from their 2012 campaign as well as bringing in new riders from other teams.

National circuit race champion, Graham Briggs, will remain with Raleigh until 2014 after signing a contract extension. The 29-year-old scored 11 wins in 2012.

Briggs said: “I wanted to show my faith in Team Raleigh and I’m certain that we’ll be able build on this season and achieve greater number of wins in 2013.”

Twenty-five year old Russell Hampton is another rider retained for next season. He finished third in the national road race championships, fifth in the Lincoln Grand Prix, and won the Colne Elite Grand Prix criterium.

French rider, Alexandre Blain, who this year won the Maldon Dengie Tour and Rutland Melton Classic for Endura Racing will join Raleigh next season after three years with the Scottish squad.

Blain will be reunited with four-time Scottish road race champion, Evan Oliphant, who joined Raleigh in 2012 after two years with Endura Racing, and will remain with the team in 2013.

Oliphant scored three podium finishes in 2012, including finishing runner up on stage three of the Vuelta Mexico.

Nineteen-year-old Matt Holmes is another rider to have extended his contract with the Nottingham squad.

Holmes was runner up in the national under-23 championships, and scored three more podium finishes in his 2012 campaign.
