Last year Škoda, the Czech car manufacturer, gave RoadCyclingUK.com members the chance to win a very exclusive signed white jersey from the first stage of the 2007 Tour de France.
Of course, those with a good memory will recall that Vladimir Gusev become the highest place young rider when the peloton reached the streets of Canterbury. The young Russian rider held onto the jersey for a further five days, losing it on stage 6.
The signed replica jersey (you wouldn’t want the actual one Gusev wore, what with all the sweat) is encased in a glass-fronted wooden frame, complete with a plaque detailing who wore it and where it was won – a fine addition to any keen cyclists wall.
As with most competitions, there can only be one winner. So congratulations Steve Taylor. We’ll be in touch to arrange the delivery of your prize.
Thanks to everybody who entered the competition.
