The sight of Nikki Harris, in the British cyclo-cross champion’s jersey, on the podium of major races this season is becoming a familiar one.
And the make-up of the women’s podium in Namur this weekend, after the fourth round of the 2013/14 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup, was a particularly elite one, with Harris joined by defending champion Katie Compton and the rainbow jersey-clad Marianne Vos.
The sport has not become predictable though – far from it in fact – and the men’s World Cup races continue to throw up surprise results as Belgium’s dominance is challenged.
