Video: Building the perfect athlete

This video, found on the Australian blog Cycling Tips, shows the behind-the-scenes work that goes into building the perfect athlete.

The specimen is Shane Perkins, who, in March, beat Sir Chris Hoy to the world Keirin title.

The 24-year-old Aussie has a top speed on the velodrome of 77 km/h, accelerating from 0 to 50km/h in just five seconds – and powered by, wait for it, 63cm thighs and 41cm calves.
