Moda Bikes is a homegrown premium bike brand producing a small but growing selection of quality products designed and hand assembled in the UK. Distributed by Eurobike, they utilise the very best components from around the world and are individually built by expert bike mechanics in Derby. Moda are certainly proud of their heritage – all bikes come with the stamp “Moda Bikes – UK Born”.
The Moda range encompasses many areas of cycling from MTB, road, commute, cross and track through to children’s race bikes. The company’s top-of-the range road machine is the Finale, which went aero for 2013 with an enlarged tear-drop profile toptube, headtube and downtube junction. The latest edition to the cyclocross range is the Calore, Moda’s first cyclocross bike to come with disc brakes.
The formation of the UCI-registered Moda-Bikemagic Racing Team was announced at the start of the 2012 season. Using Moda’s Solo titanium frames, riders for the 2012 season were Brits Ruth Owen-Evans and Imogen Buick, Kate Potter from Australia, and American Erica Zaveta.
The team competed with some success in the RockyRoads.net UCI MTB World Cup Series in both Cross Country and Cross Country Eliminator categories, as well as the British Cycling Mountain Bike Cross Country Series and National Championships and other international races – highlights included a first place finish for Zaveta in the Scottish XC Series at Paisley. However, Moda-Bikemagic were unable to continue into 2013 due to lack of funding.
