Just landed on the RCUK worktop ready for assembly, BeOne’s Raw Carbon frame and fork looks highly promising. This is the Netherlands manufacturer’s top road frame and, at a quoted weight of 920g, albeit for an unspecified size, is well inside the ballpark.
Details of special interest include the Hot Melt construction technique, which minimises the resin content of the finished carbon-fibre, and BeOne’s Double Chamber Technology. Used for the downtube and fork legs, this means an additional stiffening wall spanning the inside of the relevant tube. BeOne claims reduced vibration from the Double Chamber fork legs and enhanced torsional stiffness for the downtube, resulting in improved steering response, handling and power transmission.
Further details include a 1.125″-1.5″ fork steerer, internal cable routing and a BB30 bottom bracket housing. The frame takes a 31.6mm seatpost, has double bottle bosses and a replaceable rear derailleur hanger and is supplied complete with integrated headset, aluminium steerer bung, headset spacers with top cap and seatpost clamp.
Price is £1299.99 and the frame is offered in sizes 52cm to 62cm in 2cm increments.
