Bradley Wiggins’ Pinarello Dogma K
Bradley Wiggins’ Pinarello Dogma K
Bradley Wiggins returned to the cobbles in 2014 having not raced at Paris-Roubaix for three years.
The 2012 Tour de France champion’s competitive build-up was minimal, with the Tour of Flanders – which he rode on his regular Pinarello Dogma 65.1 Think 2 – the only notable outing, with Wiggins finishing 32nd.
For Paris-Roubaix, however, Wiggins and his team-mates deployed the Dogma K cobbles bike, which boasts a completely different geometry to the machine on which Wiggins won the yellow jersey.
The seatstays are not as wavy as the Dogma 65.1 Think 2, which in turn has now been replaced by the Dogma F8, with slimmer tube profiles said to enhance comfort, while tyre clearance has been boosted to allow for the wider rubber used to cushion the ride on the brutal pavé of Paris-Roubaix.
Wiggins opted for double-wrapped handlebars for Roubaix, 27mm FMB Paris-Roubaix tyres and a 53-44t chainring combination. Shimano Di2 satellite shifters were deployed, allowing for quick and easy gear from the tops, while Wiggins’ Fizik Arione saddle was given plenty of extra padding.
Wiggins piloted that setup to eighth at this year’s Paris-Roubaix and the race appears to be one of his biggest targets on the road in 2015.
