Spokes

DT were again called upon for the spokes: a set of 14/17g bladed, nail-head spars. The design is intended to prevent twist in the hub under load or truing; a small detail, perhaps, but one we feel will have great influence on the longevity of these wheels. The radial lacing up front (18 of them) looked extremely fetching (prepare to lose this if disc braking takes off).

Bontrager, it seems, have taken their duties seriously when producing a hoop commanding such significant investment from the would-be owner. Another item of note in this regard was their choice of Alpina locking nipples: further evidence of a careful, no-corners-cut build.
