Riders with longish memories may recall the days when it was thought useful to be able to convert Shimano eight-speed cassettes to Campagnolo eight-speed spacing and vice versa. The company with the best answer to these challenges was Wheels Manufacturing (or Mfg) of the USA. Using a combination of precision-machined spacers and reworked sprockets, Wheels Mfg created cassettes that really did exactly what they claimed. The company is still at it, offering a range of cassette combinations suitable for every application outside the manufacturer’s own, but has expanded its range to cover other, perhaps more pressing concerns.
One such is the availability of replacement derailleur hangers. While they may not break very often, any such breakage can be hugely inconvenient unless there is a spare ready and waiting in the drawer.
Wheels Mfg offers a vast range of replacement hangers to fit almost every application, all CNC machined from billet 6061 aircraft quality aluminium. Not only are they in most cases demonstrably stronger than the original hanger, they are stiffer and more accurately aligned for improved shifting.
