RS80 deep-rim wheelset
Shimano’s latest wheelset combines a deep-section carbon rim with the Ultegra-level RS hub seen in the RS80 wheelset to provide a more affordable alternative to the Dura-Ace 7850 C50 CL wheel. The rim is exactly as used for the Dura-Ace offering, with an aluminium braking surface suitable for conventional brake blocks allied to an aerodynamic rim profile with excellent rigidity.
The hubs have Shimano’s cup and cone bearings and feature bladed stainless steel spokes, 16 in the front and 20 in the rear wheel. The freehub body is, as ever, compatible with eight, nine and 10-speed Shimano-pattern cassettes. Quoted weight for the pair is 1750 gr.
