The Earnley baselayer is made from Ciba fabric, a mix of 50% polyester, 45% nylon and 5% spandex, which gives a tight fitting and stretchy layer. It’s a good shape for riding, and the lack of seams allows the material to sit closer to the body for a better fit. Additionally, the shaping of different materials in key areas is claimed to offer muscle support – though I can’t really say that I noticed this in use.

However, the jersey fits extremely well and is indeed tight fitting everywhere, and in use the baselayer removed moisture well. You don’t expect many features from a baselayer, and indeed the Compton keeps it simple. We like.
