Liv Envie and Avail
Giant’s women’s bikes, coming through the firm’s Liv subsidiary, are split into two ranges: the Envie race range, with five models in all, and the larger Avail endurance range, which incorporates 11 models including the Avail Disc.
The Avail is essentially the sister to the Giant Defy endurance bike but, Giant say, comes with a women’s-specific carbon layup (on the carbon fibre bikes, at least) and geometry.
The Avail line-up opens with four aluminium bikes with caliper brakes from £535 to £899, and there are two aluminium Avail Disc models to complement it, priced at £849 to £999. The remaining bikes in the Avail collection – based around the Avail Advanced, Avail Advanced Pro and Avail Advanced SL frames – are carbon-fibre, comfort-focused, disc-ready machines, ranging from £1,149 for the Avail Advanced 3 with Shimano Tiagra to the £3,999 Avail Advanced SL with Shimano Ultegra Di2.

The Envie, meanwhile, is the women’s-specific equivalent of the Giant Propel, and includes two Envie Advanced bikes, two Envie Advanced Pro models and the tri/TT-specific Envie Advanced TRI machine.
The Envie Advanced and Envie Advanced Pro bikes are build around a frame made from Giant’s T-700 carbon fibre, with the Advanced 2 and Advanced 1 having a carbon/alloy fork and the Advanced Pro 1 and Advanced Pro 0 coming with a full carbon fork.
The £1,299.00 Advanced 2 is dressed in Shimano 105, the £1,599.00 Advanced 1 in Shimano Ultegra and the £3,299.00 Advanced Pro 1 in Shimano Ultegra Di2. The Liv Envie Advanced Pro 0 features Giant’s SpeedControl SL brakes and Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 groupset, and fans of women’s cycling will recognise the £4,999 machine as bike of choice for Rabobank-Liv’s Marianne Vos and Pauline Ferrand-Prevot.
