Giro’s Havik sports eyewear got a redesign recently as a result of feedback from Giro-sponsored professional riders including Alberto Contador, some of whom complained of excessive pressure on the temple and brow from the first generation design.
So, while looking almost indistinguishable from its predecessor, the new Havik 2 applies a claimed 33% less pressure to the temple and offers greatly increased clearance over the brow region to reduce fogging and the amount of sweat that drips onto the glasses.
Still offered in ‘full’ and ‘compact’ shapes, the Zeiss-manufactured removable lens comes in seven tints including clear and will fit old and new frames.
Two new frame colours – Gloss Pearl White and Gloss Pearl Red – refresh the look of the design while the nose pad clips are now painted to match the frame.
Prices start at £117.99 for a single Grey lens while the dual-lens set with case, matt black or matt silver frame and choice of rose/silver Zeiss 23 clear/silver Zeiss 80 lens is priced at £179.99.
