handmadebikes.net is a new website from the authors of online framebuilding resource frameforum.org and, as its title suggests, is devoted to the world of handbuilt bicycles.
While the site has the distinctly retro vibe that tends to be associated with handbuilt cycle frames and the equipment generally hung on them, it will be looking at bang-up-to-date stuff such as Museeuw flax technology and uses for Reynolds 953 tubing.
Site owner Neil Hassan, a prime mover behind the European Handmade Bicycle Exhibition, says it will eventually feature in-depth articles on framebuilders and their ‘black arts’ as well as looking closely at the current state of the handmade bicycle industry. For the moment, there’s stuff on Colnago, Masi, Schwinn and more.
