Infinit Nutrition Trial
Mark used a custom blend that suited his requirements

A while ago RCUK put the word out for some volunteers to test some Infinit Nutrition energy products, with the task of simply using it and see how you got on, and report back to us following a suitable period of time.

Our first guinea pig for this trial is Mark Gregory, who’s been using Infinit Nutrition custom blend long enough to put a few words to html.

33-year-old Mark Gregory has been riding as long as he can remember, bit taking it all a bit more seriously for the past five years, concentrating on road riding including the occasional sportive and club run, the odd time trial and a dose of mountain biking. Mark’s training goals are simply to try and improve on his time trial and XC mountain biking performance, and he currently averages around 100 miles a week. Here’s how he got on:

I’ve used the product over the last 6 weeks and just finished the tub about a week ago. The whole process of building your formula is pretty straightforward, delivery was quick and Infinit responded promptly to a question I e-mailed them so all good on that front.

I’ve normally used carbohydrate drinks like PSP22 but the infinit mix recommended a combination of carbohydrate and protein which seems to help with endurance and recovery on longer rides, it’s difficult to say whether the Infinit mix is any better than an off the shelf carbohydrate/protein based drink but the plus is that using their system recommended the right type of drink for me.

I think the other strong point was being able to specify the taste strength, I normally like fairly strong tasting drinks so with off the shelf brands would tend to make them a bit more concentrated to get my preferred taste but with the Infinit system I could specify this up front.

Although relatively minor the real downside was the powder didn’t seem to mix too well with very cold water and it gives a slightly ‘foamy’ mix if you don’t leave it to settle for some time after mixing.

And being really picky, the scoop was at the bottom of the large tub so I had to initially empty out most of the powder to retrieve it which got a bit messy (but maybe that’s just me).
