Amongst the many beautiful lightweight cycles on display at the Sigma Sport Expo at Hampton Court on 21 March 2007 was Look’s iconic 496 track machine. Developed for the Athens Olympics, 400g lighter than its predecessor and faster through the air, the 496 is the bike of choice for national federations including France, China, the USA and more. Needing more than 100 man-hours to build, it was ridden to nine medal wins at Athens and a further 16 at the 2006 world track championships, and is one of the all-time great track designs.
Weighing 1700g for the frame plus 495g for the integrated fork, the 496 is built to withstand the efforts of the most powerful riders in cycling, and boasts steel track ends and all-HM carbon construction. Priced at £2499.99, it is made in sizes XS, S and M.

Look frames are imported into the UK by Fisher Outdoor Leisure.
