Johan Museeuw’s innovative range of bicycles, which have already gained an enthusiastic following amongst discerning cyclists across the world, has been awarded a prestigious iF Product Design Award for 2008.
The award, presented by the iF Industrie Forum Design, recognises excellence of form and use of materials across the whole range of Museeuw frames and retains its validity for the entire life of the products it is awarded to.
The Museeuw Bikes MF range of frames secured the award after beating off the challenge of nearly 3000 other entrants from 35 nations to claim first prize in the Product Design Lifestyle/Leisure category.
For 2008 the existing carbon-flax Museeuw MF-1 and MF-3 framesets will be joined by the all-new MF-5 frameset, which is the first to use main tubes almost entirely manufactured from flax fibres.
“It’s a great honour to be recognised in such a way,” commented Fangio Reybrouck, Sales Manager of Museeuw Bikes. “We believe our frames are the best and most comfortable in the world and to have the iF Jury select Museeuw Bikes as an award winner means a great deal to the company and everyone involved in the project.”
The iF International Forum Design GmbH has been honouring the very best in European design and manufacture since 1953, making the awards some of the oldest and best respected in the world.
As an outright award winner, the Museeuw Bikes MF range will go on display at the iF winners exhibition in Germany from March until August 2008, where an estimated 300,000 people will be able to admire the very best in European design.
Meanwhile the incredible ride qualities of the MF range of frames and forks are such that two European professional cycling teams have elected to ride Museeuw MF bikes for the 2008 season.
