The Giro d’Italia resumes with a team time trial over a 33.2km course in Verona where Lampre-ISD will debut a new Vision aerobar designed for the Wilier Twin Foil.
The carbon monocoque ‘bar is for use with a 31.8mm stem and has a base width of 410mm. The extensions start life as 290mm long, but can be cut down to size, and are available in three different heights – 25, 40 and 60mm.
Cable are internally routed and exit through the rear of the handlebars, which have a unidirectional carbon finish and weigh 765g.
Meanwhile, the Vision Metron groupset will feature on the bikes of Vacansoleil-DCM and Androni Giocattoli-Venezuela with an updated chainset compatible with BB386EVO, launched in February.
The time trial-specific Metron groupset, originally unveiled in 2010, features ergonomic aero shifters designed to sit in the rider’s hand and ensure you don’t have to move from the extensions in order to change gear. Pull the trigger-style lever to shift up to three sprockets at a time on the 165g 10-speed cassette, or use a small button integrated into the lever housing to downshift.
