Originally designed for use with their Kickr trainer, the Wahoo Fitness app is excellent for a couple of really good reasons.
The first is that it’ll connect with a whole host of third party sensors via Bluetooth Smart or ANT+ (providing you have an ANT+ stick for your smart phone). That means you can get heart rate, power, speed, cadence and all sorts displayed on your phone screen while you’re training indoors or out.
Second is that built into the app is the ability to directly upload training data to a variety of websites like Strava, Nike+, Training Peaks and various other sites you can configure yourself in-app.
It’s one of the best apps we’ve used in terms of clarity and simplicity of the on-screen data. And you can fully customise what you see just like with a Garmin or similar computer. Best of all, it’s free on either Android or iOS.
