Shimano went public with the new 11-speed iteration of its mid-range 105 groupset earlier this week, but RCUK was among a handful of guests invited to see the components in February.
We shot this gallery on a visit to the Milton Keynes HQ of Shimano’s UK distributor, Madison, and have today received UK pricing and availability for each of the new components.
As well as unveiling the new 5800-series 105 group, the Japanese component giant displayed further evolutions of the hydraulic disc braking system for road bikes launched last year.
A mechanical STI lever and a new caliper with a redesigned hose routing were among the components we snapped. Oh, and a new carbon-laminate disc-specific road wheelset, too.
We’re hoping to test the 5800-series groupset in the months ahead, so keep your eyes peeled. In the meantime, share your thoughts on the latest evolution of this cycling staple in the RCUK Forum.
