According to Rapha:
“A good pair of bib shorts is the best investment any road rider can make. These shorts have been developed over 18 months. We’re confident they’ll be the most comfortable on the market.”
The Rapha summer bib shorts have been designed for total comfort. The starting point for any shorts is the pad. Rapha shorts use the best pad on the market with 4-way stretch and three densities of foam, moulded around key wear points. The pad has a Scholler ‘3 x Dry’ treatment to wick sweat away and keep the pad dry and comfortable. Silver threads in the pad give anti-bacterial protection.
The bib is made of a soft mesh and has a large cut away section to improve breathability around the mid and lower back. The lycra binding around the straps has been reversed so that all the stitching is on the outside, removing the risk of rubbing during extensive use. The black lycra used for the short panels is soft but very strong, with great 4-way stretch. It won’t rub around the inner thighs and flat lock stitching is used throughout with soft thread for extra comfort.
The shorts are finished off with gripper around the legs, reflective tabs on the back of each leg seam and a small key pocket on the front of the bib. An off-white Rapha logo is embroidered on each leg. The bib shorts are available in four sizes and are only available in classic black. They cost £120. However if you recommend a friend at their website you’ll save 20% bringing them in under £100, which is a competitive price for a high-end bib short. We are trying to get some to test.
