Always looking for a way to improve the riding experience, Rapha have launched their Pro Team Thermal Aerosuit, a piece of performance clothing designed specifically for high intensity riding in cold weather.
They’re marketing it as an antidote to bulky winter clothing, and it contains elements taken from across their Pro Team range and packaged into one bit of kit – think of it as a winter riding onesie. The top half is based on the Pro Team Jacket, with a windproof and water resistant shell over the arms and front married to a breathable jersey fabric on the back.
The lower half is a modified version of Rapha’s Pro Team Winter Tights, that use a combination of fabrics to protect your legs while keeping an element of breathability. The legs are lined with a ‘waffle print’ fabric which has a far higher surface area than standard flat-faced fabric. This increased surface area traps heat and wicks sweat more efficiently. Chamois is the same as used in the Pro Team Bib Shorts.
On the back there are three pockets with reflective detailing and enough space to fit all the riding essentials. It’s available from today, and one will set you back – wait for it – £320. For more information, visit the Rapha website.
