AX Lightness are a German company specialising in carbon exotica for bikes, cars and more. Favoured by weight weenies, the Morpheus cranks weigh in at just 325g (without chainrings), meaning with the right set of rings they’ll come in below 500g.
They’re a five-bolt design, so you won’t be able to nick the latest Campag or Shimano rings, but there are plenty of compatible chainrings if you look around.
Impressively, the arms themselves come with a rider weigh limit of 100kg despite only weighing 80g (without the aluminium spider) and are compatible with BSA and BB30, 386, and BBright bottom brackets.
You can grab a set of these in 170-175mm, and they only come with a 110 BCD. The downside? They’re super expensive, and even with the exchange rate factored in they make everything else here look like an absolute bargain.
