There’s a distinct chill in the air at the moment which can only mean one thing: winter is on its way. And right on cue New Zealand clothing company Solo has released the Possum hat.

The Possum is made from New Zealand Possum fur and Merino wool, and is designed to be worn on its own or underneath a cycle helmet. Solo says the “unique hollow core of Possum fur is soft, luxurious and extremely light” and manages to keep the wearer warm with minimal bulk.

Apparently, along with Polar Bear fur, Possum fur is one of only two natural fibres in the world that won’t freeze – handy to know when you’re heading out on those bitterly cold days.
