SRAM’s latest road foray is about ready to launch. We’ve had a fair few stories on it but they have now released the first pictures of the individual components. The first groupset is called the Force and features the following bits:
• Shifters
• Rear Derailleur
• Front Derailleur
• Cranks and integrated BB
• Chain
• Cassette
• Brakes
Potential complete weight of the groupset is 2138g. The levers are 307 grams which is 111 grams lighter than anything else on the market.
Double Tap
SRAM have taken their shifter design cues from both Shimano and Campagnolo. The Double Tap means that the gear can be changed with just one lever. Up and down shifts are executed with just one lever.
Exact Actuation
SRAM also have a new “all-road” shift, improved and faster, SRAM also claim that it will also stay in tune longer. The levers have a half Shimano STI and half Campagnolo Ergo look to them
