Hargroves Cycles is set to become the sole supplier of Stevens Bikes in the UK.
Initially available through Hargroves stores and their website (for UK mainland orders), the 2011 carbon range includes the Ventoux – winner of the IF Design Eurobike Award – and the SLR, which combines the aesthetics of an aerodynamic time-trial machine with the geometry and handling of a modern street racer.
The alloy range features the Vuelta, with a lightweight aluminium chassis which allows for a full-bike weight of 6-7 kg. Time-trial, track, cyclo-cross and ladies bikes are also available.
Stevens was founded in 1992 by Werner and Wolfgang von Hatch and has developed a strong name on the continent, with world cyclo-cross champion Marianne Vos riding Stevens, before making the jump across to these shores.
The brand also features a complete mountain bike line-up, topping out with the Ridge Max, which looks to deliver the best of both worlds – the comfort of an enduro machine combined with the weight of an all-mountain bike.
