The Storck Comp short sleeve jersey is a comfortable and lightweight piece with a premium price tag.
The jersey, reviewed alongside the corresponding Storck Comp bib shorts, is made from two main fabrics: a polyester Coolmax on the bulk of the jersey, and Storck’s Seamless Textile Technology under the arms.
Coolmax fabric is designed to quickly move sweat away from the skin and the Comp jersey is very good in that regard. Seamless Textile Technology is the use of a super-stretchy, multi-textured fabric which Storck say is even more effective at transferring moisture because it does not contain any elastic elements.
It seems counter-intuitive, as the STT fabric is a little thicker and heavier to touch than the Coolmax polyester, but the two fabrics worked well together, with very little moisture retain by the jersey, making this a lightweight piece which, as a whole, is well-suited to warm weather.
Fabrics aside, and the jersey offers a good fit, though the sleeves are a little short for our liking and can ride up a little when in the riding position. The jersey has the usual arrangement of three generously-sized rear pockets, with an additional zipped pocket big enough for a mobile phone. The central pocket has an external reflective stripe, while the zipped pocket has a large rubber tab, which means it’s easier than most to open on the move, and the same goes for the full-length zip at the front.
Other features include an eyelet to run headphone through the jersey (if you ride with headphones) and an elasticated hem which does a good job of holding the jersey in place, though the minimal silicone grippers which spells out ‘handcrafted perfection’ are rendered largely redundant.
The jersey is available in five sizes (S-XXL) and one colour (black with blue trim), so all that’s left to mention is the price which, at £115, places it at the premium end of the market.
