Picking a highlight from the recent London Cycle Show isn’t easy; there were plenty of stunning bicycles on display. But for me, the undoubted highlight (aside from Alberto Contador’s presence) was Thor Hushovd’s Cervelo S3.
Literally straight from the Tour de France following his conquest of the coveted sprinter’s green jersey, his Cervelo had been customised to celebrate. It is of course all the rage these days to mark the winning of a Tour jersey by customising the bike and clothing, but the application of green paint is perhaps one of the more tasteful bikes produced. Some might disagree…
The black frame contrasts nicely with the green paint on the frame and sponsors Zipp, Rotor, Elite, Fizik and 3T have all supplied custom painted parts, including the 404 rims, cranks, stem, saddle and bottle cages. Helmet supplier Catlike also unleashed the green paint on the team issue Whisper Plus lid as well.
