This product came by complete co-incidence on the very morning I was thinking I must buy a set of accurate weighing scales… But aside from the ‘Tales of the Unexpected’ style of their arrival these have been one of the most useful things to land on this bike tester’s desk in the past few years.

Although it was originally designed for luggage it’s perfect for weighing bikes, wheels or individual components. It has a hook which you can fit under the saddle rails and grip to hold it in your hand. Set in either KG/g or lbs/oz and the display flashes and it beeps once the weight is determined. A maximum weight of 50KGs (110lbs) will mean you could even weigh a tandem. I have checked the calibration with a few ‘known’ weights and it’s spot on.

It even has a thermometer built in so you can see how cold it is in the bike shed/garage/workshop. Perfect for settling arguments over bike weights…
