Riders who own a Wilier Izoard XP are being urged to stop riding their machine immediately and return it to an authorized dealer for inspection.
Wilier-Triestina has announced a voluntary recall of models shipped from their factory between October 1 2011 and October 19 2012.
The precautionary move has been taken to allow dealers to inspect the steerer tube. Models falling within a range of potentially affected batch numbers may have to be replaced.
Defective models will be replaced by the dealer.
All Izoard XP bicycles shipped from the beginning of this week (Monday October 22) are guaranteed and safe, a spokesman said.
