dhb Finchdean jersey £33
Wiggle’s in-house clothing brand dhb has always offered functional clothing, carving itself a place as a wardrobe essential for many cyclists when it comes to affordable basics.
Whilst these staples are still on offer, dhb has gone a step further this season adding another string to the bow with the launch of high-end ranges for both men and women. Whilst carrying a slightly larger cost to match the larger number of technical design features these still come out at an unbelievably reasonable price point.
Having been impressed by the men’s Knowle range, we turned our attention to the Ladies’ side of things with the Finchdean series of designs.
First up, we put the Ladies’ Finchdean jersey to the test, as worn by the Charge team riders. On first appearances, this jersey holds its own with the best of the high-end designs on the market and continues to measure up when it comes to the all-important performance features. Notably, the rear pocket design is both uniquely and effectively designed to offer an external zip-up pocket with further internal compartments. Having tried and tested many rear pockets over the years we found this really works and gives full confidence that you have enough space to pack in all of your essentials without having valuables fly out on a descent.
It’s not too often you find a full zip on a jersey costing just £33, so we were happy to find that this was stylishly integrated into the design, not only aiding the pro-look but offering versatility and all-important ventilation.
Aesthetically, this jersey looks great and, as we are huge fans of a bit of white kit, we grabbed at the pictured colour option without as much as a second glance at the red design, but that’s just us… Joking aside for a moment, both colour schemes are appealing to the eye and manage to pull off the ever so difficult balance between femininity and subtlety.
Verdict
This jersey offers a great fit, wicks effectively to offer comfort after hours in the saddle and feels great to the touch. We just can’t believe we’re getting all this for just £33 but who are we to complain?
