The Calshot Winter League, near Southampton, takes place from 7 November 2007 to 3 February 2008. The League always guarantees some close and frantic racing, but for the future of the event to remain healthy it needs a stronger turnout that it’s had in previous years.
If you’ve not raced there before it’s worth a visit and it’s infinitely better than hanging up your track bike for the winter. The indoor wooden track is housed in the Calshot Activity Centre. Entry fees cost £10 for seniors and £5 for youths. Races run under British Cycling regulations.
While entry on the line is available, you can also pre-enter by completing a BC entry form and posting, with a cheque payable to Calshot Cycle Racing League, to Mrs Susan W Knight, 21 Bedhampton Road, North End, Portsmouth, PO2 7JX.
