On Thursday July 21, the Tour de France peloton will take on one of the toughest stages in the history of the modern race, finishing at 2,556m atop the Col du Galibier – an hour later London cyclists will have the chance to experience their very Alpine atmosphere on Swains Lane.

The second edition of Rollapaluza Urban Hill Climb once again gains a road closure for the 950m climb – featured in Simon Warren’s 100 Greatest Cycling Climbs book – that dissects Highgate Cemetery and touches 20 per cent at its steepest.

Last year’s inaugural event saw hundreds lined the climb to cheer on a sold-out field of pro, club, novice and youth riders.

Entry is free and opens at noon on Thursday July 7 on the Rollapaluza website. To volunteer or offer prizes, e-mail [email protected]
