Dean Downing in China – he needs a barbers… |
Well people, after checking out the RCUK site, it was great to read that Guy and Ian got through the Etape in good condition ( sorry I couldnt be there to get your cape this time Guy), was great to train with you guys all that time ago in Lanzarote. Looks like you both put some work in to get over the big three Mountains, and I reckon you will have enjoyed the views you had, over the pain and suffering you put yourself through.
Congratulations have to go out to Chris Hoy and Jason Qually for getting over the Alpe. Even more impressive, by the sounds of things, is the GB TEAM staff even got through it!
Well, I am in China now preparing for my own Mountain stages in the Qinghai Lake 9 day Tour, all stage are above 2000m and one even goes up to 3800m so I will be in the same boat as you guys, but I have to say I dont think I will have much time to look at the scenery.
The scenery is pretty good here at the moment, we have been in a big city called Xining for 3 days which seems very polluted to say the least, the people are so friendly here though.
The racer proper starts tomorrow (15th july) so we will see how we progress when we get racing around the Lake itself.
Thanks again for all the support this year from everyone.
