Organisers of the Exmoor Beauty have issued a last call for the new sportive, set to take place on Sunday April 22.
With a 70-mile route through Exmoor National Park, the Exmoor Beauty is designed to offer riders an early-season event to use as a stepping stone to tougher riders, including the end-of-season Exmoor Beast, one of the toughest sportives in the calendar.
“It’s always a big gamble when adding a new event to the calendar, but the concept of The Beauty is clearly proving very attractive,” said Marcus Di Vincenzo, who revealed 700 riders have signed up for the inaugural event.
“The route has been chosen for its scenic beauty and we’re keeping climbing to manageable proportions. The emphasis is on an enjoyable day out on the bike, with individuals choosing to make it a challenge, if that’s what they want. Most of all, we want it to be a fun event to do and are even awarding prizes for the best kitted-out riders in a Concours-de-Elegance competition.”
Exmoor Beauty entry costs £27, or riders can sign-up for the Beauty and the Beast for a combined fee of £50. Visit www.exmoorbeauty.org for more information.
