Apparently there’s a thing called “television” out there which, if we understand it correctly, sounds kind of like a one-way internet that just shows you what it wants rather than what you want. It all sounds terribly primitive, but we’re told that it’s reasonably popular.
Anyway, we’ve received a note from the BBC, which is fairly heavily into television. It’s got a new series called Last Man Standing, “in which a group of six western athletes pit their skills against each other and tribal champions in a series of extraordinary sporting challenges,” it says here. The first series of Last Man Standing will be broadcast in mid-2007, and a second series is being prepared.
It’s that second series that needs people to take part. The Beeb is looking for people who have a passion for sport and competition, a thirst to explore some of the most remote places on the planet and a desire to live with traditional tribes, and to learn from them.
