The 2011 London to Paris sold out yesterday in a record 15 minutes.
The 520km four-day ride from June 23-26 includes motorbike outriders, rolling road closures and professional logistical back up from Hampton Court to the Eiffel Tower.
The event costs €1,150 (£960) per person and the 350 cyclists will be supported by a 100-strong HotChillee’s crew.
“This is amazing”, said HotChillee’s Sven Thiele. “We thought the demand for places in 2010 was incredible, with the event selling out in just 20 hours, but this uptake has taken even us by surprise. It’s testimony to this unique event and its popularity which increases year on year.
“We understand that there must be disappointed riders who have not managed to enter; we hope that they place themselves on the reserve list or consider the Alpine Challenge in September which is our new multi-day cyclosportive taking place in the Alps”.
Held in September 2011, the Alpine Challenge is a three-stage event based on the same formula used in the London-Paris .
The Alpine Challenge features three stages over three days and participants can enjoy all the benefits of a professional support crew, technical and mechanical support, rolling road closures and motorcycle outriders. Further details will be announced shortly.
All participants can keep up-to-date with event news, celebrity riders, sponsors and features of the 2011 London-Paris via the event website.
