Looking for a ride with a difference? The Newport Nocturne is the UK’s only cycling event which takes place at night. On 10 September, 24 industrial lights will illuminate a tight and twisty circuit through Shropshire. Last run in 2003, the event then attracted over 14,000 spectators!
In 2003, racers traveled from Belgium, Italy and Australia, as well as the best of British. Chris Hoy, Jason Queally, Chris Newton, Rob Hayles and Paul Manning are some of the riders who will be there this year.
For the ex-Pro riders there is a Past Masters category, in aid of the David Rayner Fund. 5-times winner of the Tour de France Green Jersey, Sean Kelly will be defending his 2003 title, but the competition is going to be tough.
