RoadCyclingUK’s sportive event partner, Southern Sportive, is offering participants a chance to download a photograph of their event for just £1, with donations going to charity.
The sportive experts, who stage 11 road events attracting some 8,000 participants, hope to give charities local to each event a real boost.
Southern Sportive’s Martin Harrison said: “We see it as an excellent way to offer great value to riders and to support worthy causes in the towns and communities we visit.
“We’ve been delighted by the response from some young and talented photographers who have agreed to work with us to make this happen, and we’re really looking forward to getting this new feature up and running at our events this year.”
Salisbury-based charity, EdUKaid, will benefit from proceeds raised from the sale of photos for The Joker, which starts and finishes at Salisbury Race Course on Sunday April 1.
RoadCyclingUK has nominated the Isle of Wight’s Earl Mountbatten Hospice as the charity to benefit from photos sold of Sothern Sportive’s Isle of Wight Riviera event on Sunday May 20.
Details of charities to be supported by other events in the season will be announced as they are confirmed.
