The UCI Magnificat sportive, taking place on Sunday 13 June, is now accepting online entries.
The Magnificat will again be featuring three main rides: 126 mile Magnificat, 80 mile Route80cat, 51 mile Communicat, plus the 1.9 mile multi-lap Kiddicat within the HQ grounds.
The distances ensure cyclists of all ages and abilities are catered for; the young and ‘not so young’, serious and casual, families and friends, all taking part in our rides along lovely countryside routes. It’s the perfect way for experienced, club and leisure cyclists to cycle their own challenge, and then enjoy their success together at the finish.
The HQ location will move to Newbury Racecourse, which means organisers can offer improved facilities; in-house catering and bar, changing rooms and showers, overnight parking and Newbury railway station on the doorstep.
Cyclists from The Armed Forces and Emergency Services who will be competing for their Inter Services points based awards are welcomed.
“The Magnificat continues to support The Fire Fighters Charity (FFC) and, new this year, also the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF),” say the organisers. “We’re delighted to report that for our 2009 Sportive, we raised £9000 for Charity.
“We very much look forward to seeing you on Sunday, 13 June 2010 – don’t miss out!”
Verenti Bikes, a British company founded by Wiggle, have stepped forward as headline sponsors.
Organiser Ken Robson said: “We’re delighted to be working with Verenti. It’s great to have a major sponsor on board who make bikes of such a high pedigree and have a significant interest in the kind of riders who come to our events. Not only does it mean we can give our riders a great event, it also means we can introduce them to the bikes they want to ride.”
Verenti’s Paul Bolwell added: “We feel the Magnificat is the perfect place to showcase our brand. It caters for young and old, racers and casual cyclists, and takes place in beautiful countryside with three challenging routes.”
