There are over 700 riders signed up for the first ever Tour of the Peak on Saturday 24 October and there is still time to enter – the deadline is the 18 October so if you’re quick you could still secure an entry.
Organised by Kilo To Go, the same team that organise the excellent UCI Cheshire Cat, a route has been planned that includes the three most revered climbs in the Peak District.
You can expect well stocked feedstations with food and HIGH5 isotonic designed to keep you going, hot showers and car-parking at the Hq, transponder timing, NEG safety marshals, post-ride massage, pro-level bike support by Velo29, toilets on the route and at feedstations, insured, professional photographers out on the routes.
Kilo To Go tell us: “This is a hilly and therefore tough cycling challenge, but it’s not just about hills – our route checkers report that the autumn colours in the Peak District this year are simply stunning in places and we’re keeping our fingers crossed for continued settled weather so that the leaves stay on the trees. However, if you are plain bonkers about hills then the National Hill-Climb championships take place the day after (Sunday) at Stocksbridge just a couple of miles to the east of our feedstation at Langsett.”
