Verenti Dragon Ride a sell out

Britain’s leading cyclosportive, the Verenti Dragon Ride, has proved so popular with cyclists that an additional 300 places, which were announced following the initial entry, sold out within a staggering seven minutes!

With the exception of a few places on the newly added 40km short or Corto route, the 2010 Verenti Dragon Ride is now full.

Already some big name riders have expressed an interest in stretching their legs on the climbs of the Bwlch and the Rhigos Pass in this year‟s event and 2008 National Hill Climb Champion Matt Clinton has already stated that the course record of Dan Lloyd will be firmly in his sites.

There are however a few hospitality and corporate packages available from organiser BreakAway Cycling that include; entrance to any choice of distance, pre-ride mechanical check, night before accommodation and breakfast and that all important post ride hospi-tality, secure parking and massage facilities

“It‟s extraordinary, I‟m utterly bowled over,” said organiser Lou Lusardi just minutes after the extra places went.

The Verenti Dragon Ride will take place on 6th June 2010. The ride will feature a new short-distance ‘Corto’ route covering 40km, offering a less demanding outing than the regular 190km Gran Fondo or 130km Medio Fondo distances. All three routes start and finish at Pencoed Technology Park and take in the mountainous terrain around Bridgend, with the Gran Fondo traversing the Brecon Beacons and offering over 3000m of ascent.
