While I’m still concerned with base miles, or the lack of them, Tom Boonen has been showing that he’s got his training spot on, winning the Tour of Qatar.
Boonen finished the event’s sixth stage with another fine display of sprinting, winning from Tinkoff’s Alberto Loddo. After winning three of the six stages, including the teams victory in the team time trial, Boonen finished atop the general classification.
“Qatar has always been lucky for us,” Tom Boonen says. “It’s the perfect way to start the new season. Now we can go back home with some serenity to better prepare for our next appointments.”
