Bradley Wiggins has laid bare his 2010 Tour de France disappointment in a new book out now.
On Tour, published by Orion at £14.99, is, as has come to be expected by three-time Olympic track champion Wiggins, a brutally honest account of this year’s Tour.
The 30-year-old went into the Tour on the back of a fourth place finish in 2009 but finished just shy of 40 minutes down on the yellow jersey in 24th.
The Team Sky rider was accompanied by mod photographer Scott Mitchell during the Tour, with 100 black and white images alongside Wiggins’ part day-by-day account and part wider, deeper reflections on the history of the Tour.
While Wiggins’ autobiography In Pursuit of Glory lays emphasis on his childhood and track cycling, On Tour puts road cycling and, ultimately the burden of expectation that has come with it, on centre stage.
