Cannondale ltd bib shorts £79.99
Cannondale’s ltd bib shorts are only available in white [with black panels where it matters – ed.], but if you can get past that hurdle (and we’re sure a lot of people will be able to), there’s a lot to like about these shorts from a company better known for its bikes.
Cannondale actually produce a rather extensive range of clothing, and as the company likes to do everything it does with quality and innovation in mind, it’s no surprise these shorts are well designed.
They’re made from Dynashield fabric (a compact polyester knit) which compresses and supports the muscles, and the 10-panel design ensures a good fit. Leg openings are laser cut and the particularly sticky silicone gripper tape means the shorts absolutely don’t ride up.
The Synapse chamois is a high density item made from 4-way stretch material, which proved comfortable on long outings. Perforations ensure no sweat build-up. The bib backing gets a QuadteX Mesh for similarly high levels of sweat removal.
The only gripe that can be levelled at these otherwise top scoring shorts is the excess length in the bibs, which the rider is unless of a tall stature means excess material around the top of the shorts. The slightly imperfect fitting aside, they’re a top performing short. If you can live with the large amount of white, that is…
Sizes S, M, L, X to XX.
Verdict
Aside from the odd additional length in the shorts that results in excess material around the legs on shorter riders, these are a high performing short that provide exceptional comfort. Just make sure you’ve got well tanned legs to go with the large amount of white.
