Looking for value hoops for 2007? look no further than Fulcrum or Campagnolo. For around £100 you can have a pair of Fulcrum 7s or a Set of Campagnolo’s rather lovely looking new Ventos. We managed to sneek some pictures out of Condor’s workshop as they are building their first few 2007 bikes.
Fulcrum Racing 7
Red is the new black |
On Fulcrum’s cheapest ever wheelset, they have opted for the standard approach laced radially front and three cross on the rear drive side, with a radial off-side. They are red anodised and have black Sapim spokes.
The Racing 7’s are available with either Shimano or Campagnolo cassette bodies. Weight wise they aren’t too bad and the rim quality and bearing feel is excellent for a wheel of this price.

Campagnolo Vento
Vento’s certainly look the part |
The Vento is a ‘crow’s foot’ laced front with a large flange hub and a mix of standard lacing and ‘grouped threee’ laced rear wheel. The result is a very striking set of wheels and at a price that is well within the grasp of training wheel budget.
Again rim quality is good with a smooth machined braking surface and deep section profile.
