Team Bottecchia/Fat Birds don’t Fly elite Cyclo-cross and road rider Helen Wyman has just signed a contract with Toyota. This will see the talented 23 year old realise a dream of riding as a road professional next year. She joins Nicole Cooke (Safi Pasta) and Emma Davies who also signed for a Belgian team earlier this winter. Helen will be based in Berlin for much of next year, so the Worlds cyclo-cross will be her introduction to the German fans.
Helen will be in action at the National Cyclo-cross championships this weekend (see separate story) and then (all being well) off to Germany for the World Championships. The Rugby based rider will have some time off at home before going on a training camp in Mallorca with her new team members. Riding for this professional German team will help her move on from cyclo-cross and give her the chance to achieve her ambition on the road as well. Best of luck Helen!
