Nocturne series for 2008

Following the success of the inaugural Smithfield Nocturne on June 2007,
founders RaphaCondor and organisers Face Partnership are planning more events
in 2008 with the creation of a Nocturne Series.

The series will include a second edition of the Smithfield Nocturne as well
as a new event being developed in partnership with Salford Council around the
Lowry in Salford Quays. More events will be added as the series grows, with each
Nocturne following the same successful formula as the Smithfield event.

The series will be presented by RaphaCondor, who created the concept for the
Smithfield Nocturne, with Face Partnership the driving force behind the planning
and organisation.

“The Smithfield Nocturne was incredibly popular, particularly considering
the limited time available to promote the event” commented James Pope, Managing
Director of Face Partnership. “We believe the format will be just as successful
at other venues across the country so the creation of a series is a logical
step forward.”

“The location is a key factor” he continued. “RaphaCondor
chose Smithfield Market for the first event because it is a historic location
in the heart of London. The course is superb and the surrounding infrastructure
really enabled us to create a unique festival atmosphere.”

With the next Smithfield Nocturne scheduled for 7th June the creation of an
event in Salford Quays will now form the basis for the Nocturne Series.

“We are looking at more locations in the UK” commented Pope. “The
venue at Salford Quays is perfect and will make a fantastic addition to the
series. Salford Council is on board and shares our vision of creating a world
class event, so we are very excited to be able to develop the series.”

Simon Mottram, Managing Director of Rapha, shares Pope’s enthusiasm,
“We are delighted that the concept is growing and are looking forward
building on the success of the Smithfield Nocturne and helping to develop the
Nocturne Series.”

Grant Young, Managing Director of Condor Cycles, added, “The Smithfield
Nocturne was such a huge success and if we could develop this in every major
city, we could achieve the enthusiasm and excitement that city centre cycle
racing so deserves.”

The Smithfield Nocturne returns on 7th June 2008 and the concept is growing
with the Quays Nocturne in Salford in August 2008. More events are planned for
2008 and 2009 with the ambition of developing the Series across the UK.
