It was a great night

The Rapha
Condor Smithfield Nocturne, held on 23rd June
2007, was a celebration of cycling in all its forms – from the amusement
of a “Le Mans start” folding bike race to the thrill of the Elite
criterium, the event proved great entertainment for all who watched and took
part and attracted an estimated audience of over 5000.
The event faced stiff competition in the Sports Tourism category, with the
Gold award going to the Tour de France Grand Depart and Silver to Emirates Stadium
Tours. The judges were impressed with the innovation and originality of the
Rapha Condor Smithfield Nocturne.
Delighted with the result and the fact that cycling scooped two of the three
awards in the Sports Tourism category, Fran Millar of Face Partnership said
“We’re over the moon. The event was a fantastic opportunity for
us to work in London, which is our home city and a superb venue for cycling. We look forward
to making the Rapha Condor Smithfield Nocturne bigger and better next year.”
The Visit London Awards is both a showcase for and a celebration of the best of
the city’s leisure and business tourism offerings. Now in their third year,
the awards have become the ‘Oscars’ for tourism in the capital.
